$2 billion investment for Tuscola ammonia plant

Decatur, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Gov. JB Pritzker used the Farm Progress Show as the setting Tuesday to announce a $2 billion fertilizer ammonia plant is coming to Tuscola.

Illinois Department of Agriculture director Jerry Costello II added the news could not have come at a more critical time, with an estimated 95 percent of U.S. farms projected to be unprofitable in 2025.

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity said an EDGE tax credit is an incentive for the 130-job plant.
