CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — State Representative Carol Ammons (D-Urbana) and State Senator Paul Faraci are inviting the public to a community town hall on Thursday, September 18, to address rising energy costs, cuts to social services, and other critical local issues affecting Champaign-Urbana residents.

The town hall will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the 4th Floor North Room of the Illinois Terminal Building, located at 45 E. University Avenue in downtown Champaign. The event is free and open to the public.

“This is a great opportunity for local residents to gather as we discuss Central Illinois’ most pressing issues, and dive into hyperlocal and state developments that impact our neighborhoods across U-C,” Ammons said in a statement. “It’s been an erratic year, led by careless decisions in Washington, where Illinois has had to gear up and make tough choices. I’m eager to sit with my neighbors to discuss our needs and values as we head into a fall session.”

The town hall will provide a platform for constituents to ask questions, share concerns, and engage directly with their elected officials ahead of the General Assembly’s fall legislative session.

For more information, residents can contact Ammons’ office at communications@staterepcarolammons.com
