Bielema, Illini players headed to Wrigley Field for Illini Night on June 2

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Illinois head football coach Bret Bielema and defensive back Matthew Bailey will lead the seventh-inning stretch at Wrigley Field next Tuesday as part of Illini Night at Wrigley, when the Chicago Cubs host the Oakland Athletics on June 2.

Bielema and Bailey will serve as guest conductors for the iconic seventh-inning stretch, one of baseball’s most beloved traditions. Defensive lineman Joe Barna will also be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the 7:05 p.m. CT start.

Before the game, Bielema will headline a free pregame party at Budweiser Brickhouse Tavern at 3647 N. Clark St., beginning at 4 p.m. CT. No game ticket is required to attend the pregame event.
