DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) — The Vermilion County Coroners Office has identified a body found yesterday (May 21, 2026) in a downtown building that was being demolished, as that of Shawn A. Williams, 49 of Danville.

Danville Police Department arrived around 12:36 p.m. after work crews found the body at 128. N. Walnut Street, formerly known as Studio 25.  Williams was found inside the building and pronounced dead at the scene. The police department is continuing their investigation.

An autopsy was conducted yesterday morning, and final results are currently pending. Williams family have also been notified.

Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden said in a news release, “that the remains of the individual, “had been there for some time.”

The Police Department is continuing their investigation. No other information is available at this time.
