SPRINGFIELD, IL (Chambana Today) — A Central Illinois lottery player is celebrating a $3 million win after Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing.

The winning ticket was purchased at Qik-N-EZ – 430 N. Grand Ave. East in Springfield. The ticket matched all five white ball numbers — 12, 39, 43, 49 and 55 — but missed the Mega Ball, 23.

Because the ticket included a 3X multiplier, the original $1 million prize was tripled to $3 million.

For selling the winning ticket, the store will receive a $30,000 bonus, equal to one percent of the prize amount.

In total, more than 11,000 winning Mega Millions tickets were sold in Tuesday’s drawing.

The jackpot now climbs to an estimated $458 million for the next drawing on Friday, February 27. Tickets cost $5 and include a randomly assigned multiplier that increases non-jackpot prizes
