CHAMPAIGN-URBANA, IL. (Chambana Today) — Chambana Today issued an apology and correction after publishing incorrect times for a Compass Casting open call for actors, acknowledging the error caused confusion for attendees and organizers.

The casting call, hosted by Compass Casting and Bokeh Background at Flyover Film Studios on Saturday, Jan. 31, was scheduled to run from noon to 5 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. However, an incorrect time was shared in a Chambana Today Facebook post, which stated the event began at 5 p.m.

As a result, several people arrived after the event had concluded, leading to frustration for attendees and staff. Compass Casting owner and casting director Sarah Cayce contacted the newsroom requesting the post be corrected as soon as possible after staff encountered people arriving late and questioning the discrepancy.

Once notified, Chambana Today updated the Facebook post with the correct information and issued an apology for the mistake. Chambana Today said it regretted the error and any inconvenience caused to Compass Casting, Flyover Film Studios, and community members who planned to attend.
