CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — The Champaign City Council will hold a special regular meeting and post‑council study session on March 24 at 7 p.m., with a full agenda that includes honorary street designations, insurance agreements, zoning approvals, and major infrastructure contracts.
Council members will review and approve minutes from several February community civic events and recent council meetings before moving into a public hearing on the FY 2026–27 Annual Action Plan.
A series of ordinances and resolutions will follow, including:
Honorary Street Designations
- Benita Rollins‑Gay Way on Walnut Street between Eureka and North
- Diane Nesbitt Way on Hickory Street between Vine and North
Administrative and Development Actions
- Authorization for the city manager to execute agreements for property, liability, casualty, and workers’ compensation insurance with USI Insurance Services LLC and CCMSI
- Approval and publication of the official zoning map
- A development agreement with 401 North Neil Street LLC for the Graduate Hotel project
- A special use permit allowing a duplex at 410 West Healey Street
Public Works and Infrastructure
- Contract approval for the Masonry Repair Project with Mason’s Masonry Restoration, Inc.
- A professional services agreement with Reifsteck Reid & Company Architects for second‑floor office design at 201 W. University
- Authorization to purchase road salt through the Illinois Department of Central Management Services
- An engineering services agreement with The Roderick Group (Ardmore Roderick) for the 2027 Asphalt Streets Improvement Project
- A contract with Feutz Contractors, Inc. for the 2026 Concrete Street Improvements Project, along with a related resolution under the Illinois Highway Code
The meeting will also include audience participation, council and city manager comments, voucher and payroll approvals, and a study session on the FY 26/27 Annual Action Plan and FY 26/27 Bond Cap.
