CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Champaign County RC Club (CCRCC) has received national recognition from the Academy of Model Aeronautics, the world’s largest model aviation organization, in a seven-page feature in Model Aviation magazine. The article highlights CCRCC’s outstanding training programs and its commitment to community outreach in the Champaign area.

CCRCC’s Summer Training Sessions are set to begin in mid-May and continue through mid-September, offering Thursday evening lessons at 5:30 pm. The program is free, open to all ages, and requires no prior experience or equipment—everything is provided except sunglasses and a hat. Lessons are canceled only if winds exceed 11 mph or it is raining.

The club’s flying field is located at 3613 West Bloomington Road, just two miles west of Champaign’s Mattis Avenue on Route 150.

For more information on the national recognition or the training sessions, contact CCRCC President Bill Spencer at bfs@illinois.edu.
