Champaign police investigate fatal shooting of 24-year-old Richard E. Frazier

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Champaign County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday evening. Richard E. Frazier, 24, of Champaign, was shot around 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 16. He was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital but was pronounced dead an hour later in the Emergency Department.

Champaign County Coroner Laurie Brauer confirmed the identity of the victim in a news release issued on Monday. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week to determine the exact cause of death.

Police have not yet revealed any details about the shooter or potential motives.
