URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) — Due to a staffing shortage, Crisis Nursery is temporarily reducing its in-person overnight childcare services. However, daytime and evening services will remain unaffected, and the 24/7 crisis line continues to operate without interruption.

The reduction is a result of challenges in recruiting and retaining qualified third-shift childcare staff, essential to maintaining safe, trauma-informed care for children. Crisis Nursery is actively seeking individuals committed to providing overnight care to meet the needs of infants and young children.

“We are working to restore overnight care as quickly as possible by building the staffing needed to support overnight stays,” said Stephanie Record, Executive Director of Crisis Nursery. “Our goal is to remain an ‘Island of Safety’ for every child we serve.”

Crisis Nursery is currently hiring for second and third shift childcare positions. Those interested are encouraged to apply and share job openings within their networks. Employment details can be found at www.crisisnursery.net.

About Crisis Nursery: Crisis Nursery provides 24-hour emergency care for children, preventing child abuse and neglect while supporting families in crisis. It is the only emergency-based childcare facility in Champaign County available 24/7, 365 days a year.
