The ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Jan. 28 in the Lower Chambers of City Hall, located at 17 W. Main St. in Danville. Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. will lead the proceedings.

Family members, friends and members of the public are invited to attend as the department recognizes McMahon’s promotion and continued service to the city.

McMahon has served with the Danville Fire Department for more than 26 years and will assume leadership of the department’s 3rd Battalion. He is a certified Hazardous Materials Technician and serves as a fire investigator, bringing extensive operational experience and specialized expertise to his new leadership role.

Fire Chief Aaron Marcott said the promotion reflects McMahon’s long-standing commitment to the department and the community.
