Danville High School remained open after bomb threat investigation

DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) — On March 5, around 7:30 p.m., Danville Police Department was alerted by District 118 staff about a possible bomb threat targeting Danville High School. The threat originated from a social media post directed specifically at the school.

Officers promptly launched an investigation and requested assistance from the University of Illinois Bomb Squad. The bomb squad deployed several detection dogs and, working alongside Danville Police, conducted a thorough search of the school’s interior and exterior.

No explosive devices or suspicious items were found, and the threat was quickly deemed non-credible.

The Danville Police Department is actively investigating the source of the threat and seeking to identify those responsible.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no further information has been released.
