Danville man killed in motorized bicycle crash at Harmon and Voorhees

DANVILLE, Ill. (Chambana Today) — On the afternoon of September 28, 2025, a 43-year-old Danville man died following a crash involving a motorized bicycle and a GMC Terrain at the intersection of Harmon and Voorhees Streets. Danville Police responded to the scene at approximately 4:11 p.m. and found the bicyclist with severe injuries. He was transported to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation revealed the man failed to stop at a posted sign while traveling northbound on Harmon Street, colliding with a GMC Terrain heading eastbound. No other injuries were reported. The Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Team is assisting in the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending notification by the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office. Anyone with information is urged to contact Danville Police or Vermilion County Crime Stoppers.
