DANVILLE, Ill. (Chambana Today) — On Tuesday, Danville Police responded to two separate burglary complaints at businesses within a block of one another, found the burglaries to be connected, and made an arrest following an investigation.

At 1:22 AM, officers with the patrol division responded to an alarm at Firehouse Fish Chicken & Grill, located at 610 East Main Street. Officers found the glass on the entry door broken, but found no subjects inside.

At 9:28 PM, officers responded to Watson Tire & Automotive Service, located at 700 East Main Street, for an alarm.

Upon arrival, officers found the business had been burglarized. Officers immediately launched an investigation and were able to obtain surveillance footage of the suspect.

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 1:49 AM, an officer observed the suspect wearing the exact clothing from video surveillance walking near the intersection of Main Street and Corrine Street. Officers stopped the suspect and identified him as 33-year-old Jeffery Ashby of Danville.

Officers discovered that Ashby was on pre-trial release and wearing an ankle monitor from a previous burglary that occurred in the same area of the city in August of 2025.

Ashby was arrested for burglary and criminal damage to property over $500 stemming from Watson Tire & Automotive.

Detectives located further evidence that led to Ashby being booked for the burglary that occurred at Firehouse Fish Chicken & Grill.

Danville Police is releasing no further information at the time.
