GIBSON CITY, IL (Chambana Today) — This weekend, travel back to the neon-lit 1980s at the Harvest Moon Twin Drive-in for a one-of-a-kind Drive-in Prom. The popular outdoor theater is rolling out the red carpet for an unforgettable evening of classic films, throwback hits, and a lively 80s-themed prom experience. Gates open around 6:30 Friday and Saturday and showtime is roughly 8 p.m. this weekend.

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the beloved 80s classic Pretty in Pink, along with a special screening of the new Michael Jackson biopic Michael, the event promises to bring the best of both worlds: cinema and prom magic. Fans of the era can relive the iconic pink dresses, feathered hair, and electric dance moves as they enjoy a night under the stars with their friends, dates, or even solo.

Alongside the films, the event will feature themed photo booths for guests to snap their prom-perfect pictures, a dance party with 80s music to get everyone moving before the movie, and a best-dressed contest with prizes for the most creative outfits. Guests can also indulge in delicious movie snacks, including themed mocktails, classic drive-in treats like pizza and popcorn, and even 80s-inspired food specials from the “Burger Barn.”

With tickets priced at $10 for adults and $8 for children, the event is expected to sell out quickly. The gates open at 6:30 p.m. with showtime set for 8:00 p.m., but organizers recommend arriving early to claim the best parking spots.

For those looking for an even more unique experience, the drive-in is offering the Truck Bed Experience, where guests can enjoy the movie from a cozy truck bed with air mattresses, clean sheets, and premium sound, creating an ultimate comfort zone for movie lovers.

In true drive-in style, the event will go on rain or shine, adding a bit of thrill to the night’s experience. Review the Drive-In’s policies before you go: FAQS.

Tickets are available now online, so grab yours before they’re gone. For more details and to purchase tickets, visit Harvest Moon Drive-in’s website.
