URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) – More than 200 international farmers and agribusiness professionals will gather at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign on Monday, August 25, for International Agronomy Day, a major event spotlighting the future of global agriculture.

Held at the Crop Sciences Research and Education Center in Savoy, the event will feature field demonstrations, cutting-edge research, and opportunities for visiting leaders to connect with world-renowned crop scientists from the university’s College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) and the Department of Crop Sciences.

“This is a rare opportunity to share Illinois’ agricultural innovations with a global audience,” said Adam Davis, Head of the Department of Crop Sciences. Speakers will include ACES Dean Germán Bollero, along with faculty such as Professor Aaron Hager, who will be available for interviews.

International Agronomy Day is traditionally hosted in years when the Farm Progress Show is held in nearby Decatur. Attendees are encouraged to arrive by 12:45 p.m. to hear welcome remarks at 12:50 p.m.
