CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — The Parkland College Foundation will host its annual Women of Impact Scholarship Celebration and Selection on June 16, bringing together community members to support students pursuing higher education.

The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Shapland Student Commons at Parkland College’s Student Union.

Women of Impact is a grassroots giving circle made up of individuals committed to helping Parkland students achieve their academic goals through scholarship support. Since 2023, the organization has awarded 36 scholarships to current and prospective students attending the college.

“Our Women of Impact members often resonate with our students’ stories, as they may have faced similar challenges when pursuing their own education,” Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations Lesa Brandt said. “This is a wonderful way to pay it forward as we support and celebrate the next generation of students.”

During the event, attendees will review scholarship applications and participate in selecting recipients. Each scholarship award totals $2,000 and is divided between academic semesters.

Membership in Women of Impact begins with a minimum contribution of $100. Donations of $500 or more are recognized through the Parkland College Foundation’s President’s Circle program.

Organizers said all contributions are tax deductible and directly support the Parkland Women of Impact Scholarship Fund.  RSVP or make a gift today.
