Police seek suspects in TJ Maxx theft in Champaign

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Champaign County Crime Stoppers is asking the public for help identifying two women involved in a retail theft at TJ Maxx on East Marketview Drive.

The incident occurred around 5:52 p.m. on March 3, when the women selected multiple sets of Nike and Jordan brand children’s clothing, concealed the items, and left the store without paying. The stolen merchandise was valued at approximately $550.

Authorities say the suspects were captured on video. One was described as a White female with long brown hair, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The other was a Black female wearing a black puffy coat. The pair fled the area in a newer black Escalade.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Champaign County Crime Stoppers at 217-373-8477, via the P3 Tips mobile app, or online at 373tips.com. Tipsters remain anonymous and may be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 for tips leading to arrests in crimes like this.
