CHICAGO, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Illinois Lottery players have another shot at a life-changing prize this week as the Powerball jackpot climbs to an eye-popping $775 million for Wednesday night’s drawing.

If claimed, this would be the second-largest Powerball jackpot of 2025 and the eighth-largest in the game’s history, fueling excitement across the state.

Several Illinois players are already celebrating wins from Monday night’s drawing. One lucky player scored $1 million after matching five numbers. The winning ticket was purchased at Midtown Liquors, located at 306 W. North Ave. in Flora, a small southern Illinois community.

Another Illinois player took home $50,000, matching four numbers plus the Powerball. That ticket was sold at Mid-Town Convenience, located at 600 E. Fort Street in Farmington.

The current Powerball roll began on September 7, and since then, more than 680,000 winning tickets have been sold in Illinois, awarding players nearly $10.5 million in prizes. Retailers also benefit, earning commissions on every ticket sold and a 1% selling bonus on winning tickets.

The next Powerball drawing will take place on Wednesday, December 3, at 9:59 p.m. CT. Tickets are $2 each, with the optional Power Play for an extra $1, which can multiply non-jackpot prizes. Tickets can be purchased in-store or online via the Illinois Lottery website and mobile app.
