CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Harm, Healing, Hope (H3) is holding its next “Shine the Block” event this week, looking to serve essential needs for families with a focus on the area near Country Brook Apartments. The events align with H3’s mission to reduce harm, promote healing, and build hope through community support.

This month’s event will take place at Y on the Fly, located at 2422 West Springfield Avenue from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event will include a warm meal, fun activities for children, and groceries or essential items for residents to take home. Additionally, H3 will host a Community Conversation to hear directly from residents about how the needs of those living in the community can be better supported.

H3 is a coalition in Champaign County dedicated to ending community violence. They work to address the effects of violence, poverty, and injustice by providing a grassroots-driven system of care focused on wellbeing and connection. Shine the Block reflects H3’s mission by offering meals, essential resources, and educational workshops that build empowerment, support stability, and strengthen community bonds.
