When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting, including multiple shell casings. Police also reported damage to several vehicles and an apartment building believed to be connected to the incident.

Shortly after officers arrived, a 17-year-old male from Champaign arrived at Carle Health with a gunshot wound tied to the shooting. Police said the teen was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told investigators a dark gray SUV was seen leaving the apartment complex at a high rate of speed immediately after the shots were fired.
