CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Champaign Police are investigating a shooting that left an 18-year-old male injured Tuesday evening on the 100 block of North Mattis Avenue.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 6:55 p.m. on April 28 following reports of gunfire and injuries. When police arrived, they learned the victim had already fled the immediate area after being struck.

The victim was later located in the 700 block of Country Fair Drive, a few blocks from the shooting scene. Officers, along with the Champaign Fire Department, provided emergency medical care before transporting him to a local hospital.
