DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) —A report of a single gunshot led Danville Police to uncover firearms, drugs, and cash during a search of a local home on the morning of August 27.

At approximately 8:36 a.m., officers from the Danville Police Department’s Patrol Division were dispatched to the intersection of Jackson Street and Cherry Street after receiving a report of a shot fired in the area.

Upon arrival, officers identified Clayvonte Sloan, of Danville, as a suspect. He was stopped by police while leaving the area in a vehicle. Officers then turned their attention to a nearby residence in the 400 block of N. Jackson Street, where they made contact with the resident, Talicia Duckworth, also of Danville.

After obtaining a court-approved search warrant, investigators searched the residence and discovered:

  • Two firearms
  • Suspected cannabis (500–2000 grams)
  • Suspected methamphetamine (5–15 grams)

  • U.S. currency

As a result of the search, Sloan and Duckworth were both arrested and booked on multiple charges, including:

  • Methamphetamine Possession (5–15 grams)

Additionally, Sloan faces a charge of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm related to the original shot-fired call. Both individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
