Urbana Fire Department responds to overnight fire on Wilson Road

URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) – At 1:04 a.m. on August 17, the Urbana Fire Department was called to a fire involving a shed near a mobile home at 1706 Wilson Road in Urbana. Upon arrival, fire crews discovered the shed fully engulfed in flames, with the fire beginning to spread to the nearby mobile home.

In total, four Urbana Fire engines, a ladder company, a command unit, and a Chief Officer, along with a ladder company from the Champaign Fire Department, quickly arrived on the scene. Firefighters quickly deployed suppression lines, managing to bring the fire under control in less than 15 minutes.

The occupants of the mobile home had already evacuated before emergency responders arrived. No injuries were reported, and the residents are expected to remain in their home as they were not displaced by the incident.
