URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The City of Urbana will celebrate the opening of its newly constructed Fire Station No. 2 with a community ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Dec. 1, at 1:30 p.m. The station, located at 1501 East Mumford Drive in Ward 6, will soon serve as a key hub for emergency response on Urbana’s east side.

Residents are invited to attend the celebration, meet the firefighters who will staff the station, and tour the modern facility. The event will also highlight fire safety resources available to the community, as well as the department’s expanded capabilities with the addition of the new station.

City officials say the new Fire Station No. 2 will improve response times, enhance service coverage, and support ongoing public safety needs. More information about the Urbana Fire Department and its services is available at UrbanaIL.gov/Fire.
